Blueprint4Summer and Saint Louis University partner to give students an unforgettable summer experience, full of fun and education!
What are your kids doing this summer? Maxine Clark of the Clark-Fox Family Foundation and founder of Build-A-Bear says blueprint4summer.com not only helps parents find great opportunities, but it helps the camps as well. “We’ve tried to help camps look where there are so many people that are inquiring and give them that feedback so they can relocate their camps from last year to this year to places where there was a parent who put in their zip code but there was no camp within ten miles,” she says.
Build-A-Bear Workshop founder Maxine Clark is broadening her website devoted to connecting local children to summer activities with the addition of a college prep database that features programs from universities around the country. Blueprint4Summer College Prep launched in January and has about 1,700 summer programs that feature STEM, test prep and arts, among other subjects. The college prep programs are open to all U.S. students, not just those in St. Louis.
St. Louis development officials are considering two proposals to renovate the former St. Luke’s Hospital on Delmar Boulevard as offices, apartments and stores. Most recently the old hospital at 5535 Delmar was the site of St. Louis ConnectCare, which filed for bankruptcy in 2013. The city’s Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority owns the vacant building complex.
The “Grand Missourian International”? The “Delmar Divine”? These are the aspirational names for a series of buildings that are anything but inspirational. The hodgepodge of buildings that constitute the abandoned St. Luke’s Hospital on Delmar Boulevard in the City of St. Louis has attracted some big names and big ideas.
